Thomas Paul

I do not think one can have enough plates, except possibly if you live in NYC. I think these Thomas Paul plates are so fun... I can see so many great summer parties with these designs.

Eames Hang-It-All, Limited Edition

I was just browsing the DWR website and I came across this Limited Edition Eames Hang-It-All. This is definitely a must have piece. The walnut brings such a fresh, sophisticated update to the original multicolored version.

Hurry they are only available until early 2011!

Original Thought.

I absolutely love how how original these invitations are, the joy that these invitations would bring when you opened them in the mail. You would definitely be counting down the days until this wedding because you could expect quite the celebration.

Finds of Week No. 1

Just a few of the things that caught my eye this week and made me smile, enjoy!

Enjoying the last summer days.

One of my favorite Etsy Shops Lucky Little Dot, in love with the Vintage General Electric Fan.

Hand cast anchor key fob.

A numbered dresser that could be used anywhere.

Have a great week.

Insound 10 for 10.

Sonnenzimmer for Insound 10 for 10 have just designed a great poster series featuring ten of the bands that they believe made an impact on music in 2010. The designs can also be purchased in t-shirts.

I absolutely love them all.

Pool+

Summer 2010 has been a temperature record breaking summer. The hot days are starting to drag on and I am incredibly excited for slightly cooler temperatures that I know have to be on their way shortly. Living on an island you would think that there would be swimming opportunities all around us. Wrong, wait until you see the water that surrounds New York. There is no way anyone in their right mind would ever put their legeven an inch in the water.

This new concept for a floating pool would be absolutely amazing especially with the views. I hope that this concept is turned into reality one day soon. Please check out their website, a group of designers and architects have come up with this concept to help increase the environmental quality of New York City by 2030.

Granted.

I have wanted a Cowichan sweater for sometime now. It took me quite a long time to find out the name for these sweaters. But once I did the designs and quality in these sweaters are just stunning. A traditional Cowichan sweater is knit by hand from high quality wool by members of the native Canadian tribe the Cowichan and feature Canadian motifs like deer, whales, snowflakes....

Granted in Vancouver has taken a modern spin on the traditional Cowichan and I am very excited for them to unveil their fall/winter collection any day now. Here are a few pieces from their previous collections....

I would definitely like to add both a traditional Cowichan sweater and a more modern one to my closet this winter. You must get your orders in shortly because as they are knit by hand the wait time is 3-4 months.

Nina's House.

Dutch designer Dave Keune has made one of the most brillant and well designed baby product that I think I might have ever seen. He has really thought of everything- crib, changing table, storage and it can easily be moved around.

Amazing.

Olson Kundig Architects

I have always been drawn to architect Jim Olson's work. The buildings he creates have such a grand relationship with the environment around them. They way in which he considers the natural habitat and the landscape in the Northwest, when he builds, he is able to create inspiring habitats. I would definitely want to reside in one of his dwellings if I ever live in Seattle.

Modern Fifty.

Exploring flea markets is one of my favorite ways to spend a Sunday. My best flea market find was just a couple months ago when I found a set of nine Nasa prints. They are from 1950's and are photographs that were used in Nasa school...we will show them one day right now we are just trying to find the right frames.

The guys over at Modern 50 find the most amazing things. I can spend hours looking at all their industrial finds. If I didnt live in an apartment I could definitely do some damage shopping here. I love how they know the use for every item, hours of discovery can be spent on this site.

Just a few additional miles.

I have secretly wanted to live in Europe for a while now (it should be noted that I have never been to Europe) but that it has always been a dream. And when I go I do not want to go to any place like London or France (one day) but that I just want to go to the quaint and quiet little towns near the water.

To a little sea side town and to be an apprentice at a design firm in Europe for a couple of years. To soak up the culture and the life style and to be challenged in the new way of living. To get a fresh outlook on life. I have live in North America my whole life...How grand would it be to be able to experience something completely different?

My calling to Europe could just be to this house because I have been in love with it for sometime. Isn't it grand? And look at the attention to detail? Stunning.

Everyday we walk walk past so many things that influence us in our lives. From the graphics on a building, to a child sitting next to us on the subway, to the clouds on a beautiful summer afternoon, we are constantly surrounded by beauty.

I thought it was time to share some of the things that inspire/influence us on a daily basis.
